Mr Hankus is a graduate of the Faculty of Law and Administration at Jagiellonian University. During his studies, he spent a semester at the University of Malta. After that, he continued his legal education by serving his legal advisor's apprenticeship at the Regional Chamber of Legal Advisors in Krakow and passed the legal advisor's exam with distinction in 2015. Since 2014, he has also been a tax advisor.
He has over 15 years of professional experience in the field of tax and legal consulting. He gained practical experience already during his studies by completing a number of internships at, among others, foreign consulting companies (CSI Chartered Accountants in Dublin), and the Agricultural Property Agency, and from 2009 to 2018 he was professionally associated with one of the leading consulting firms PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
In the course of his professional activity, he served companies in a wide variety of industries (including automotive, FMCG, renewable energy, IT, mining, fuel, e-commerce).
His main area of professional interest is corporate income tax, with a particular focus on issues related to accounting for investment processes and depreciation of fixed assets, business reorganizations, implementation of the research and development tax credit, as well as real estate tax optimization, tax and administrative court proceedings.
He also advises on public aid issues by supporting clients in obtaining grants and EU funds, and conducts training courses and seminars on legal and tax issues.
He is the author of publications in trade magazines and daily press, including Przegląd Podatkowy, Monitor Podatkowy, Rzeczpospolita, Strefa Biznesu and Nowoczesny Przemyśl, and is co-author of a report prepared by PwC entitled “Property Tax - 25 Years of the Law on Local Taxes and Fees”.
